West Texas Medical Associates and Dr. Fazlur Rahman are pleased to welcome Robert Prieto, M.D., as of August 1, 2008. Dr. Prieto will be an associate of Dr. Fazlur Rahman in the practice of oncology and hematology. Dr. Prieto comes to San Angelo from the Cancer Care Centers of South Texas in San Antonio.
While in the United States Air Force, Dr. Prieto served as Medical Director of the Hematology/Oncology Clinic at Wilford Hall Medical Center at Lackland AFB and at Elgin AFB in Florida. He graduated from the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in Maryland, did his internship at Keesler AFB in Mississippi and his fellowship at Wilford Hall in San Antonio. He was a Lt. Colonel in the United States Air Force.
Dr. Prieto is Board Certified by the American Boards of Internal Medicine, Medical Oncology and Hematology. He is especially interested in cancer-associated thrombosis, myeloproliferative disorders, lung, head/neck and colon cancers. In his spare time, Dr. Prieto enjoys reading, running and NASCAR racing.
