The Ear, Nose, Throat & Allergy department of WTMA now offers Coblation Tonsillectomy for their patients. Unlike traditional tonsillectomy, Coblation combines gentle radiofrequency energy with normal saline to quickly and safely remove tonsils. Coblation does not use high levels of heat thus leaving healthy tissue surrounding the tonsils intact. Coblation has been used in nearly three million procedures by ear, nose, and throat (ENT) surgeons.
Coblation Tonsillectomy is a quick outpatient procedure that takes less than 30 minutes and is performed in an operating room under general anesthesia. Since most patients stay in the hospital only a few hours, the overall experience is better when compared to traditional procedures. Most patients experience decreased postoperative pain and patients can resume a soft diet within just a few days.
You may contact Dr. Keith Walvoord or Dr. Timothy Lindemann’s office with any questions or to schedule an appointment at 325.224.5211.
