Coronavirus (COVID-19) Information and Resources

West Texas Medical Associates (WTMA) is committed to protecting the health and safety of its patients, employees, and providers while continuing to provide the best possible patient care. During the COVID-19 Pandemic, WTMA has implemented many practices to best serve our patients. We appreciate your cooperation and understanding as we implement these safeguards to protect our community and lessen the spread of potential illnesses during this time.

COVID-19 Diagnosis & Treatment

If you are experiencing symptoms related to COVID-19 such as cough, fever, or respiratory illness, please contact your provider’s office directly via telephone and report these concerns. Your provider will work with you to determine the best methods for diagnosis and treatment. If you are experiencing a medical emergency, please go to the nearest emergency room or call 911.

Masks

Along with Governor Abbott's Executive Order GA-19, the Texas Medical Board has adopted an emergency rule, making it mandatory for all patients and visitors of healthcare facilities to wear masks along with the treating physician or staff member. All employees of WTMA will wear a mask while treating patients or in common areas of the clinic. Please wear a mask for your scheduled visit. Patients and visitors without the appropriate masks will be denied entry into the facility.

No Waiting Room

Effective, Monday, July 13, 2020, WTMA will close it's waiting room and lobby. Patients and visitors must have a scheduled appointment to enter the building. Patients will receive communication from their provider's office regarding this process through our appointment reminder system. When you arrive for your scheduled appointment, please remain in your vehicle and follow the instructions received.

Phreesia Pre-Registration

WTMA uses Phreesia to complete the registration process and collect up-to-date insurance and demographic information for each patient’s scheduled appointment. With Phreesia, patients have the advantage to complete Registration prior to their appointment utilizing their own device or computer. Pre-registration, which is sent through a link to the patient’s email or text message, is encouraged for appointments as a contactless method which also decreases wait time. At the time of registration, all patients must complete a COVID-19 pre-screening questionnaire relating to their health and the health of anyone accompanying them to their visit. At the time of arrival for the appointment, patients will be sent a link to their mobile device to complete any remaining registration steps required by their provider.

Visitors

To best protect our patients and staff, only patients with a scheduled appointment and one accompanying individual are allowed in our facility at this time. All persons entering the facility are subject to Temperature Screening prior to entering.

Telehealth Services

WTMA Providers are committed to providing care that best fits the patient’s needs and well-being. In some cases, appointments can be completed through virtual visits utilizing specific video and audio-conferencing services. If you feel that a virtual visit would best fit your needs, please contact your provider’s office to discuss this visit type further.
