As a courtesy to our patients West Texas Medical Associates will file verifiable and assignable primary and secondary insurances.  Any additional insurance plans will have to be filed upon by the subscriber.

All inpatient and outpatient services that require pre-certification must be authorized prior to services being rendered.

If a patient is required to bill his or her own insurance, West Texas Medical Associates will provide an itemized statement and a claim form to the patient, and the account will be treated as a self-pay.

West Texas Medical Associates does not accept discount cards.

Self-pay maternity care and delivery charges are due in full by the 7th month of pregnancy.  All laboratory and sonography are to be paid at the time of service.

Due to the varied nature of treatment, it is occasionally necessary to bill the patient for additional charges after the patient’s visit.  These charges are due in full when the patient receives their first statement with a patient responsible balance.

If the patient is unable to pay their balance in full, monthly payment amounts of 10% of the balance or $50, whichever is greater, is acceptable.

Balances over 75 days past due will be assigned to a collection agency.

Statements

Statements are generated when a claim is filed with your insurance company.  Because of this, you may receive a statement before your insurance company pays a claim.  You will be able to tell if you owe a balance by looking in the NEW BALANCE box at the top of the statement.  If the box is blank, you do not owe a balance.

Patient balances are due in full upon receipt of the first statement.  Please mail your payment promptly.

Making a Payment

As an added convenience to our patients, WTMA offers a variety of payment options.  Accepted
payment methods include cash, check, credit card, or debit card.  Payments may be mailed using your statement top, brought by and placed in our drop box, or made over the phone at 325-224-5403.  Our cashier or Patient Services Representative will also be happy to assist you with setting up recurring monthly payments.
