Chronic snoring is a common problem. In many cases, snoring can fully or partially be traced to the soft palate – the area located on the roof of your mouth between the hard palate and the uvula. With Coblation your doctor effectively shrinks excessive tissue with a specially designed device applied to the soft palate. Coblation treatment for snoring is a quick, outpatient procedure that takes less than 10 minutes to perform. Coblation is not a heat-driven process thus surrounding healthy tissue is preserved allowing for a fast and easy recovery. Patients typically return home shortly after the procedure, and can experience a noticeable snoring improvement within one to four weeks, which could dramatically improve a patient’s quality of life. In some cases 3-4 sessions may be required for maximum improvement. Although this procedure is not currently covered by insurance, it is comparable to insurance deductible amounts.
